The Hunter's Guide
Issued by The Commission. Everything a citizen needs to know before answering the call.
!engage — first eligible citizen to type it claims the commission.01The Basics
The channel runs on two connected systems. CCRI — the Cyclopia Citizen Rating Index — is your citizen file. It tracks how you participate (chat, redeems, subs, clips, showing up stream after stream) and turns that into a score, a standing, and a growing collection of badges. Defenders of Cyclopia is the monster-battle event layered on top of it.
The two are inseparable: your CCRI standing and badge count determine which entities you're even permitted to engage, and your CCRI file directly generates your battle stats. There is no separate character to build. You are your standing.
Defenders of Cyclopia is a live, viewer-participation combat system active during official broadcasts at twitch.tv/drcyclops. When unclassified entities breach Cyclopian territory, The Commission issues an engagement directive. Registered citizens of sufficient standing may respond with !engage in the Twitch chat to claim the commission and face the entity directly.
Victory earns trophies. Defeat is documented. This is not entertainment. This is a civic function.
The stream is at twitch.tv/drcyclops. Engagement commands are issued in the Twitch chat. Combat is conducted via Discord direct message. The Commission does not maintain a public schedule — check the live indicator at the top of this page.
Yes. A Twitch account to watch and issue commands, and a Discord account to receive dispatches and fight. Registration links both. Unregistered residents may watch but cannot engage.
02Registration
Click Answer The Call in the navigation above. Two authorizations are required:
Both proceed through official platform pages. Your credentials are not seen or handled by this office.
You're redirected to a welcome page showing your new citizen card. From there, click Link Discord to complete the second authorization — this both links your account and adds you to Dr Cyclops’ Robot Disco in one step. Your file starts tracking automatically from your next stream, and your Discord role updates automatically as your standing changes. This is one-time and permanent.
Already a server member from before and just need to link an account without repeating the flow? !linkccri in Discord works as a manual fallback.
In Twitch chat: !standing, !badges, or !stats. If your Discord is linked, each sends a full Commission Assessment card — score, standing, badges, trophies, and elixir inventory — to your DMs. If not linked, you get a short text summary in chat instead.
03Citizen File & Standing
Standing accrues automatically through consistent presence, civic contribution, and duration of service. It is calculated by the Commission Scoring Registry and is not retroactively adjusted.
Current CCRI is a 0–100 score based on your last 90 days of activity — not lifetime points. Recent participation counts most; older activity fades gradually rather than dropping off a cliff.
| Standing | CCRI Range |
|---|---|
| Resident | 0–9 |
| Citizen | 10–19 |
| Approved Citizen | 20–29 |
| Trustee | 30–44 |
| Senior Trustee | 45–59 |
| Elite Citizen | 60–69 |
| State Asset | 70–79 |
| Pillar of Cyclopia | 80–89 |
| Sovereign Asset | 90–94 |
| Member of The Inner Eye | 95–98 |
| Golden God | 99–100 |
Counts toward it: chatting during streams, redeeming channel points, cheers/subs/resubs/gift subs, submitting clips, and returning stream after stream — attendance streaks are the single biggest factor — plus receiving a broadcaster !bless.
Does not count: lurking with no interaction, spam, raids, clip views (making a clip counts, watching one doesn't), or anything logged while you're offline or tracking is paused.
See Commission Scoring below for the full category weighting.
04Combat
Any registered citizen whose Twitch and Discord accounts are both linked and who meets the standing and badge threshold for the entity currently spawned. The floor for Tier 1 is Resident standing with a minimum badge count that scales by entity — some require none, most require at least 2. Requirements scale with the entity's classification — harder monsters require higher standing and more badges.
Both accounts must be linked. Twitch is how you issue the !engage command. Discord is where the combat dispatch is delivered. If either is unlinked, you cannot receive the commission.
When an entity is detected, an engagement window opens. The sequence is as follows:
!engage in the Twitch chat within the 3-minute engagement window. The first eligible citizen to do so claims the commission. All others are stood down.Every entity has its own hidden behavior — some dodge constantly, some hit hard but miss often, some grow more dangerous as the fight drags on. Nothing is spelled out in advance. You learn each one by fighting it.
Typing !engage again doesn't take the fight immediately — you're filed into a holding pool instead, so one very active hunter can't claim every commission back-to-back. If a citizen who hasn't fought yet this stream engages within the window, they take it. If nobody fresh steps up before the 3-minute window closes, one hunter is pulled from the pool at random rather than letting the entity go unengaged.
05Elixirs
Elixirs are your only pre-fight preparation. Redeem channel points to earn one per stat — Attack, Defense, Luck, or Speed — stackable up to 10 of each in your inventory.
When you engage, you get a short prep window to spend up to 2 of whatever you're holding before the fight starts. Unused elixirs stay in your inventory for next time. Each is a flat stat boost for that entire battle — nothing more complicated than that. Check your current stock any time with !elixirs.
06The Three Tiers
60 entities, the full spread from “a new viewer can clear this in a few turns” to “you need serious history to even qualify.” Listed in the Codex Demonicus, spawning regularly, and designed to be manageable. The intent of Tier 1 is not to kill you — it is to give you a reason to show up, accumulate badges, collect trophies, and build up your luck and inventory before something harder arrives. Think of Tier 1 as the process of becoming prepared.
35 named entities in a separate classification entirely. Require a minimum of Elite Citizen standing and 10 badges to engage — requirements that scale within Tier 2, with the hardest entities demanding more. They are not listed in the Codex in advance. They are not announced on a schedule. They appear infrequently — when The Commission determines conditions warrant, and not before. They are significantly more dangerous than anything in Tier 1. Citizens who have treated Tier 1 as optional preparation will notice the difference immediately.
Reports persist that Ripple Tipkins conducts civic predictions during these engagements. This has not been confirmed by any office.
The rarest and hardest encounters in Cyclopia. Requirements: Pillar of Cyclopia standing, 15+ total badges, and 3+ Tier 2 trophies. They can spawn naturally — roughly 1 in 20 spawns — alongside the normal rotation, and the broadcaster can also deploy one deliberately for a special event. Either way it shows up in chat looking like any other spawn. Each carries a unique special effect that changes how the fight plays out. You won't know what it is until you're in it.
Sovereign Asset standing is recommended. The Commission does not guarantee survival at any standing.
07Badges & Trophies
Badges are distinctions awarded automatically by the Commission Scoring Registry when you meet specific thresholds — attendance milestones, chat activity, standing progression, subscription history, and others. They are earned, not assigned. You do not apply for them.
Badge count is one of the two primary factors that determine whether you are eligible to engage an entity. More badges open access to harder commissions. They are also a signal to The Commission — and to other citizens — of how long you have been here and what you have done. Consult the Badge Registry for the full list of known distinctions.
Trophy badges are awarded to the citizen who defeats a classified entity in direct combat. Each trophy is tied to a specific entity — you can hold it only once regardless of how many times you fight. Multiple citizens may earn the same trophy through separate engagements. They appear in your citizen file alongside your standard badges and are visible to all viewers of the registry.
Yes. Trophies carry significant weight in your Luck stat — more than a standard badge. Luck governs how reliably you hold your ground when it matters most. The Commission does not publish the formula.
A successful parry grants two turns of protection — attacks absorbed, damage nullified. A failed parry leaves you stunned and unable to act. Citizens who build their record tend to notice the difference.
No — once earned, they sit on your file indefinitely as long as you never wipe. If you do choose to reset your file (see Prestige), that's the one thing that clears them: everything resets except a small set of Legacy badges, which survive every wipe no matter what. Legacy badges mark one-time, unrepeatable moments in Cyclopia's history rather than routine milestones — prestige badges themselves are Legacy, so prestiging never erases your past prestige levels. Trophies are not in the Legacy set, and reset along with everything else.
08Hunter Rank
Hunter rank is the Commission's assessment of your combat capability. Where standing measures civic tenure, hunter rank measures how dangerous you are in the field. It is derived from your CCRI score, badge count, active streak, and blessings received — weighted to reflect genuine engagement, not badge accumulation alone.
Your rank appears on your citizen file and the registry player card. It updates automatically as your record improves.
Auxiliary is the entry classification. Arbiter designates Cyclopia's most lethal field operatives — those whose record has surpassed conventional commission metrics. Advancement is not requested — it accrues.
09Prestige
Once you've built serious standing, there's a way to voluntarily reset your file and go again for a permanent mark a normal citizen file can never earn. Type !wipe in Twitch chat or Discord — Smiff checks eligibility: State Asset standing or higher, 20+ total trophy badges, with at least 3 Tier 2 trophies among them.
If you qualify, confirming the wipe fully resets your CCRI file — score, events, non-Legacy badges, all of it — but grants a permanent prestige badge you keep forever, and your prestige level advances:
| Prestige Level | Badge |
|---|---|
| 1 | Legacy Marked |
| 2 | Officially Reprocessed |
| 3 | Pillar Emeritus |
| 4 (max) | Immortal Instrument of Cyclopia |
The first citizen ever to do this in Cyclopia's history additionally earned a one-time-only badge, The Precedent, that will never be awarded to anyone else.
!wipe still works as a no-strings full reset — same clean slate, just no prestige badge attached. Either way, it's entirely your call: nobody can wipe your file except you. This is an endgame feature for veteran citizens, not something you'll touch early on — but it's why you might see someone with a lower current score who's clearly been around forever. Check their badges.
10Commission Scoring
The Commission Scoring Registry evaluates eight categories of civic contribution, each weighted by the Commission's assessment of its difficulty to sustain. All scores decay over a 90-day rolling window — contributions from last quarter count for less than contributions from this week.
